I just want to point to a nice program in our repo. It is a now working replacement of grip which is used to convert songs from an audio-CD into mp3-files. The disadvantage of grip is a (from my point of view) complicated way to configure it properly. asunder in completely configured and ready to use. And, it has a nice GUI as well. Try it if you want, I like it.
